Department Overview:
Lexington Clinic Radiology
serves the patients referred from Lexington Clinic and community
physicians and specialists. We are a full service-imaging center
with Routine X-Rays, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, CT
and MRI. Our 16-slice CT scanner and the MRI
units are from the most advanced and most quiet line in the
industry. Our newly opened Center for Breast Care provides
comprehensive screening and diagnostic breast imaging in a
pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. Lexington Clinic Radiology also
serves the imaging needs of Lexington Clinic patients at St.
Joseph Hospital, thus ensuring continuity of care and the highest
quality radiologist services for our patients.
Lexington Clinic has the distinction of establishing a radiology
department that was run by the first trained radiologist in
Lexington in 1925. Eighty years later, Lexington Clinic continues
with a tradition of highly qualified and experienced professionals
serving the people of Lexington. Dr. Shailendra Chopra is
fellowship trained in Body Imaging and Intervention specializing
in CT, MRI and ultrasound of chest, abdomen and pelvis as well as
ultrasound-guided interventional procedures. He has extensive
experience in Radiofrequency ablation of liver tumors. Dr.
Markus Holzhauer is fellowship trained in Breast Imaging and
Musculoskeletal Radiology and Breast Imaging. He specialized in
breast imaging and interventions, Neuro and Musculoskeletal
imaging, advanced MRI techniques such as breast, body and cardiac
MRI. He is involved in the Lexington Clinic Center for Breast Care
with Dr. Leonel Vasquez. Dr. Timothy Mahloch is a fellowship trained
Musculoskeletal Radiologist specializing in MRI and CT of bones,
joints and muscles as well as arthrography. He specialized in
imaging of sports injuries and works closely with the Lexington
Clinic Orthopedics Department. Dr. Leonel Vasquez is fellowship trained in
breast imaging. He oversees the Lexington Clinic Center for Breast
Care, which provides comprehensive screening and diagnostic
services. Dr John West is a highly skilled general radiologist as
well as a vascular and interventional radiologist. He is based at
St. Joseph Hospital.
Major accomplishments of the Lexington Clinic Radiology Department
are:
· Sub-specialization of the
radiologist practices.
· Addition of a fellowship
trained Mammography Radiologist.
· Services provided by the
Center for Breast Care are fully accredited by the American
College of Radiology.
· The direct consultation
between the Musculoskeletal sub-specialist and the Orthopedic
physicians. Radiologist.
· Ultrasound guided biopsies
and drainages are provided by our sub-specialist in our Ambulatory
Surgery Center
